Who is Jacob Frey? Frey, 44, is a Democrat currently serving his third term as the Mayor of Minneapolis, having been re-elected in 2025. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary and attended Villanova University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. In 2013, Frey ran for the Minneapolis City Council, winning a seat. After representing Ward 3 for three years, Frey ran for the mayor’s office. After winning his election, Frey became the second-ever Jewish mayor and the second-youngest mayor in the history of Minneapolis.
